For more than 40 years St Margaret’s Hospice Care has been helping patients, families and carers across Somerset facing a life-limiting illness. 100% of the care and support they provide is free of charge to patients and their families at the point of service. They rely on a number of income streams to fund the vital end of life care that St Margaret's Hospice provides. This includes; donations, grants, retail stores, fundraising activities, lottery and gifts in Wills on top of the NHS contribution.
The organisers of Dunster by Candlelight chose St Margaret's Hospice Care as the charity to support from the outset. Donations from the event since 1986 have resulted in the charity receiving nearly £186,000 in support of their valuable work! In the current economic environment donations to enable them to continue to provide support and care to their patients and their families and carers are more important than ever.
