The two day Candlelight festival is a big event and it costs a great deal to to put it on each year. The event enables substantial collections to be made for our primary charity, St Margaret's Hospice. Those proceeds go direct to them.
The direct costs incurred to stage the weekend include insurance, road closures and associated costs such as hire of barriers, professional entertainers and musicians, and of course candles! The committee also spends a great deal of time arranging the entertainment, the bus services and the printing of the programme.

The direct costs for the weekend are largely covered by subscriptions paid by businesses in the village and a huge "thank you" is due to all who make their contribution. Without them and our hardworking Committee, Candlelight would not happen. Sadly there are one or two traders who stay open after their normal closing time and benefit greatly, having not contributed. Those businesses do not therefore appear on our list below.
